Baby Kinka-Cute

Oh, and by the way, here is what they look like as baby's. I didn't think they could get any cuter! After researching some more, I found out that If you wanted to buy a Kinkajou, depending on the seller, they cost between $1,500 and $2,000. Not too bad for an exotic animal if you ask me. The cage they need to stay in is around 4 ft. tall and wide. They need a lot of space, so some people actually dedicate a full room to it. It's very docile and kid friendly! Like i said in my first post, beats having a dog!

Oh! and did I mention they're legal in Ohio?!

I'll just leave these heart warming baby Kinkajou's here.

Kinkajou, More Like Kinka-Cute

I just wanted to let you all know that out there, in this big world, there is an animal called the Kinkajou. It is an extremely adorable animal and while it looks like a monkey, it is closer related to the  raccoon (which, in my opinion is an equally adorable animal). Some facts about the Kinkajou are:

  • "They are able to turn their feet backwards to run easily in either direction along branches or up and down trunks" ("Kinkajou"). Talk about standing on one's own two feet.
  • They also use their tail like another arm and a blanket while they sleep.
  • Kinkajou's are otherwise known as "honey bears because they raid bees' nests" ("Kinkajou") by using their long tongues. Not only do they use them for bees' nests but they use them to remove insects from their nests.
  • Other than honey and insects, Kinkajou's also eat fruit and small mammals.
  • Watch out though, for the Kinkajou has nimble front paws and sharp claws. While it's adorable, it's dangerous, to smaller mammals that is.
  • Kinkajou's aren't seen much but they are heard. Their vocalizations include, "as soft huffing, chirping, or whistling, a 'barking' noise (like a yelping dog), a shrill shriek that can be very loud (a feeding call)."
  • Lastly, "Kinkajous form treetop groups and share social interactions such as reciprocal grooming."
There are different types of these species but some of them are actually kept as pets. If only! It sure beats having a dog! (Even if it barks like one)

Brandon's Mom's Birthday Gift

I have an update on the Candle Holder I made Brandon's Mom for her Birthday. I added some details to it so now it looks like an actual butterfly instead of just an X.

Spring Break Details

I had a fantastic time with Brandon on my Spring Break. It's really late right now and I just got home today, so unfortunately I don't have any pictures for you; but, there will definitely be some later. Brandon and I went on an adventure while I was down there. We were watching "Friend Green Tomatoes"  when we both had an overwhelming craving for Donuts. His mom let me take her car and drive up to the nearest gas station to get some. That was the first car that I have driven that was not mine or my parents. It was a small trip, but a fun one. Every single day was so much fun down there but Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were the best.

On Thursday I went with his parents to pick Brandon up from school. Then we drove into town to drop his dad off at work. When we got back home his mom had a Zumba class to go to and when she arrived back Brandon and I took the car into Alliance and rented some movies. It was my second adventure. We rented 3 scary movies, and 1 normal movie. We also stayed up really late. We hit that hour where reality gets all silly and nothing you say is not funny.

On Friday it was Brandon's birthday! He is now 18 (he is 6 months younger than me). He has become a man. For his birthday I went with his dad and him to go out to eat and then everyone went over to his Grandparents house for cake and ice cream. His sister Jamie also came down from college to see him. After his Grandparents house, everyone went out to Karaoke except for Brandon, his Dad and me. His parents let us take their car again and we drove up to Kent to go to one of his favorite stores. That was my third and final adventure. When we got back home Brandon and I just hung out in his room and watched scary movies.

On Saturday Brandon and I went to a school dance at his High School. The theme was neon and they had a couple of black-lights near the front of the gym. There weren't many people there but I still had tons of fun. His friends are so much fun to be around and I just enjoyed being with him and dancing. He looked really nice in his neon blue shirt and his neon green over shirt. We didn't take any pictures of ourselves but we did get a group photo of us with his best friend Evan and his date. After the dance we went back home and proceeded to finish up our scary movies.

I always love visiting Brandon and I'm hoping I can see him again really soon for his Spring Break. I know I just got home, but I really miss him. I cannot begin to express how happy it makes me to be able to wake up and know that he's actually there. It's really hard to see all of these couples walking around and know that I can't be with him all the time like that, but he is definitely worth it.

Where Am I Going To Put All Of These Crafts?

Guess what guys! I did some more crafts! I went out shopping today with Jordan and I picked up some foam, cheap, adhesive sticker things so I can easily apply and peal when I need to spray paint. So with that, I did some more crafts! First, I did a second gift for Brandon's mom because I wasn't sure which one would turn out better. I personally like this the best but I'm thinking I'm just going to give them both to her. Secondly, I made one, not for Brandon's mother, using the adhesive foam sticker things. I think it turned out alright. While out shopping I also picked up some more glasses for me to continue practicing my craft on.

Here, have some pictures.

Spring Break

Oh! I mentioned it briefly in my last post but I'm going down to Ohio again. On Friday it is Brandon's birthday and then Saturday he is having a dance at school. The theme is neon and there are going to be black-lights  it should be fun! I'm spending the week down there again and I can't wait.

Because I'm going down on Monday I have a lot to do tomorrow. I have to buy clothes for the dance, then pick up some craft stuff to attempt his moms birthday gift again, and other things so I can continue practicing, and then if I can't find any neon clothes, I have to go buy some clothing dye.

Then on Sunday I have to pack everything. Good thing is I have no homework for spring break, which starts Monday. That's why I'm able to go down and visit him.

I'm really excited, but I'm also kind of nervous. The last time I was there and around his friends I didn't give off such a good first impression. I'm pretty horrible around new people so I hope I do better this time.

Anyway, Seeing as how tomorrow is such a busy day, I'm gonna get some sleep.

Crafty Part 3

I tried to do some more candle votives tonight. I did one for fun to see how it would turn out, and the other was more or less practice but I tried to make it for Brandon's Mom. Her birthday was a few days ago but I won't see her until Monday so it is my belated birthday gift to her.

This is the first one. I tried making dots with hot glue and then I took them off after painting. I think I kind of like it better with the dots on.

This is the votive I did for Brandon's Mom. Her favorite color is blue and she loves butterflies, so I tried making a butterfly stencil and then removing it to reveal the inside of the candle votive. It needs some touch ups but I think it turned out alright. The paint coat is a bit uneven, you can see it on the inside. Honestly, again, I think it looks better with the glue on.

Crafty All Over The Place

I did another craft last night too that I didn't have the pictures for but I have them now. It's a faux marbled glass. You use nail polish to create a marbled look on the bottom of a glass (mine happens to be a shot glass that I found at Goodwill) and when looked at from the top, the colors of the nail polish seem to shine through the glass. It was just my first attempt so it didn't come out perfect, but like all things, you have to start somewhere.

Crafty Update

Here are some pictures of my previous craft with a light in it.

Crafty

Guys! I did something Crafty today! Recently I've been wanting to get crafty, but without the money to buy what I need it takes awhile. I was finally able to go out and purchase the last few things I needed so tonight I created a candle votive. It's a big uneven painting wise, but it was my first try and I expected it. Other than that I think it turned out pretty well! The pictures... not so much, but here they are!

As soon as I'm able to get the money to get what I need you better watch out, because i'm crafty!
