Under Blanket Snuggles

I suppose an update is in order. Spot is still alive and kickin'; however, about a week ago she started acting funny again so we took her back to the vet and discovered her levels are a little bit elevated. In order to help bring her levels back down we now have to give her an IV drip everyday. Since we've been giving her that she's been eating, playing, and being very active. All of which are great signs, so I'm very happy about that!

I've found that she has also been very affectionate which i LOVE. Upon finding out her levels were elevated I moved an old mattress I have and settled in upstairs where I've slept for about a week now. It allowed me to easily watch her when my parents were in bed to make sure she was acting normally, nothing went wrong, and to overall observe her. Also, i liked spending time with her. We share this moment my best friend likes to call "Under Blanket Snuggles" which entails Spot crawling under my blanket and sleeping against my leg, or in between my legs, or however I'm positioned and will stay there for quite some time. Along with that Spot would come over and lay beside me and purr and just ask for attention she normally doesn't receive with my parents in bed and her not liking my room. My room is in the basement near the furnace (which isn't the quietest) so she doesn't visit much. When she does visit, it isn't for very long.

Tonight, with Spot doing so well, I had to move back into my room and I found myself feeling very disappointed and sad. I'm really going to miss being able to spend time with her. Given that I'm the only one awake late at night she relies on me for night-time attention and with me in my room we no longer have that. I'm really going to miss it.

I'll try to add some more Pictures soon. I know I haven't been updating much, I'm sorry! At least you can always depend on me being undependable?

Yeah.. That's comforting. Till next time!

Spot

So, I'm pretty sure I have told you guys before that I have a cat named Spot. I love her very much.  Last Wednesday Spot got sick. She was sleeping all day, acting frightened when we got near her. It was scary. So last Thursday we took her to the vet. It turns out Spots' kidneys are failing. We left her there Thursday and picked her up Monday morning. The vets flushed her system of all of her toxins and she is now on a new food regiment among other things. Hopefully this will make her better for a long time but ultimately her kidney failure will come back. I'm hoping when that happens I will have the means to try and help her again. She has improved a lot since we dropped her off at the vet last Thursday but she is still sick. She has lost a lot of weight and she is still quite lethargic but we are seeing glimpses of her old self. I have hope that she will continue to improve.

In honor of her, and me needing pictures for my Photography class, Here are some pictures of my beautiful Bugaboo, Spot.

P.S. She has never really liked being my photography subject, and it was nice to see that she still doesn't.

So Uh... This is Becoming my M.O. Isn't It?

Whew. It's uh... It's been awhile. Sorry about that.

The job at the bookstore was temporary so I no longer work there. However! I do have an interview with someplace tomorrow! So I'm very excited about that, here's hoping.

My parents and I went to a concert last Sunday that was fantastic! It was Sarah Groves, Andrew Peterson, and Bebo Norman. They were all incredible. At the concert was also a company called Compassion International. I will post a link to their website below. What they are is a company who helps sponsor less fortunate children around the world for around $38 a month. It helps pay for education, shoes, and bible school. I will be helping my parents sponsor a little girl named Lariza who lives in Guatemala. She is 5 years old and she is adorable. I'm very excited about that as well.

I am still continuing to go to college for Interpreting studies. The classes are starting to get a bit harder but that's to be expected. I hope everything goes well and I can stay on the Deans list. Speaking of! I don't think i told you guys but I'm on the Deans list at my college! I have been maintaining a 3.8 GPA each semester and I'm so friggen happy about that!

I'm sure I have LOTS more to talk to you guys about but I have to for now so, until next time!

P.S. In my second to last post i told you guys i have a lot of pictures to show you, and i do. I will get them up as soon as I can.

P.P.S. Here is the link to Compassion International

Guess Who Has A Job Beside's Workin' It?

Oh! And I got a Job!

I work in my College Bookstore at the Register. So far I think i'm doing pretty good.

It's only temporary for the "new semester rush", but hopefully they decide that i'm doing well enough to just keep me and work year-round.

I work 5 days next week! Phew.

Did I mention we've been busy?

Did I Mention We've Been Busy?

Brandon came back up a few weeks ago! He was able to stay for 2 weeks this time! Before he came to stay up here, I was able to stay down there for a week.

While he was up here we did so many things. We went to see Tall Ships in Bay City which is an annual event  showcasing the tallest ships in the world (maybe it's just the country. I'm not sure.). Then we went to one of my father's concerts in Ann Arbor. We Also went to Lexington, Michigan to see the water at Port Huron and after we went to see a lighthouse (Brandon's first) and get ice cream.

Brandon and I had our 1 year anniversary while he was up here too. For that, we went to Applebee's and then to the Flint Museum of Art. It was a lot of fun. The museum has a new event every Thursday I believe where they have a live band and you can purchase food and enjoy music and art. Brandon and I did not partake in the food but we did enjoy the music while walking around to the exhibits. While we were in one of the exhibits, the live band that was playing happened to play our song!

We stopped and danced.

When I was down in Ohio, we had a pre-anniversary celebration since we would be in Michigan for our actual anniversary. Brandon took me to the Drive-In! (Well, I drove; but, he paid!) I had never been to a Drive-in before and it was a lot of fun. We bought some pizza and sat out lawn chairs. We saw Monsters Inc University, and Despicable Me 2.

I have SO many pictures to show you guys and I promise that I will get them up.

Did I mention that the week before Brandon came up, L'eau Lise was here for a week?

We've been busy.

Stop Waiting

I find my friends and I in situations where we're waiting for someone to have feelings for us, or waiting to get over them, or waiting so we can have them like they have us.

What i really want to say to anyone who is in a situation where you're waiting. Stop.

I know it's hard; but you can do it.

You deserve to be with someone. Not waiting to find out if you will be.

What Do You Think?

Guys I did a thing.

I had a lot of fun making this. It's made from Crayon. I think I'm going to try and make more. I might try selling them, who knows if I can even sell them but I'm doing something and that's what matters.

Seriously, Why?

Every time I see a  commercial on television advertising mints for pets that help freshen their breath, strengthen their teeth what have you; all I can think about is

Why has no one named them "PetPermints"

Update On The Glow In The Dark Jar

Jordan and I made the Glow In The Dark Jar around 8:30ish and it is just now is starting to die out. I read somewhere that the jar's generally last around an hour because they are made with glow sticks but it seems like it lasts at least 3 and a half hours.

We Some Crafty Kids

So, Jordan came over today and among other things, we got crafty. We made Glow In The Dark Jars, and Jellyfish In a Bottle.

Is This Pinteresting?

So, today I got a Pinterest. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I love crafts and there are so many great crafty ideas on there. I just hope It's worth it. So far I'm browsing through Mason Jar crafts.

Anyway, here is my Pinterest! Not much yet but, just wait.

Baby Kinka-Cute

Oh, and by the way, here is what they look like as baby's. I didn't think they could get any cuter! After researching some more, I found out that If you wanted to buy a Kinkajou, depending on the seller, they cost between $1,500 and $2,000. Not too bad for an exotic animal if you ask me. The cage they need to stay in is around 4 ft. tall and wide. They need a lot of space, so some people actually dedicate a full room to it. It's very docile and kid friendly! Like i said in my first post, beats having a dog!

Oh! and did I mention they're legal in Ohio?!

I'll just leave these heart warming baby Kinkajou's here.

Kinkajou, More Like Kinka-Cute

I just wanted to let you all know that out there, in this big world, there is an animal called the Kinkajou. It is an extremely adorable animal and while it looks like a monkey, it is closer related to the  raccoon (which, in my opinion is an equally adorable animal). Some facts about the Kinkajou are:

  • "They are able to turn their feet backwards to run easily in either direction along branches or up and down trunks" ("Kinkajou"). Talk about standing on one's own two feet.
  • They also use their tail like another arm and a blanket while they sleep.
  • Kinkajou's are otherwise known as "honey bears because they raid bees' nests" ("Kinkajou") by using their long tongues. Not only do they use them for bees' nests but they use them to remove insects from their nests.
  • Other than honey and insects, Kinkajou's also eat fruit and small mammals.
  • Watch out though, for the Kinkajou has nimble front paws and sharp claws. While it's adorable, it's dangerous, to smaller mammals that is.
  • Kinkajou's aren't seen much but they are heard. Their vocalizations include, "as soft huffing, chirping, or whistling, a 'barking' noise (like a yelping dog), a shrill shriek that can be very loud (a feeding call)."
  • Lastly, "Kinkajous form treetop groups and share social interactions such as reciprocal grooming."
There are different types of these species but some of them are actually kept as pets. If only! It sure beats having a dog! (Even if it barks like one)

Brandon's Mom's Birthday Gift

I have an update on the Candle Holder I made Brandon's Mom for her Birthday. I added some details to it so now it looks like an actual butterfly instead of just an X.

Spring Break Details

I had a fantastic time with Brandon on my Spring Break. It's really late right now and I just got home today, so unfortunately I don't have any pictures for you; but, there will definitely be some later. Brandon and I went on an adventure while I was down there. We were watching "Friend Green Tomatoes"  when we both had an overwhelming craving for Donuts. His mom let me take her car and drive up to the nearest gas station to get some. That was the first car that I have driven that was not mine or my parents. It was a small trip, but a fun one. Every single day was so much fun down there but Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were the best.

On Thursday I went with his parents to pick Brandon up from school. Then we drove into town to drop his dad off at work. When we got back home his mom had a Zumba class to go to and when she arrived back Brandon and I took the car into Alliance and rented some movies. It was my second adventure. We rented 3 scary movies, and 1 normal movie. We also stayed up really late. We hit that hour where reality gets all silly and nothing you say is not funny.

On Friday it was Brandon's birthday! He is now 18 (he is 6 months younger than me). He has become a man. For his birthday I went with his dad and him to go out to eat and then everyone went over to his Grandparents house for cake and ice cream. His sister Jamie also came down from college to see him. After his Grandparents house, everyone went out to Karaoke except for Brandon, his Dad and me. His parents let us take their car again and we drove up to Kent to go to one of his favorite stores. That was my third and final adventure. When we got back home Brandon and I just hung out in his room and watched scary movies.

On Saturday Brandon and I went to a school dance at his High School. The theme was neon and they had a couple of black-lights near the front of the gym. There weren't many people there but I still had tons of fun. His friends are so much fun to be around and I just enjoyed being with him and dancing. He looked really nice in his neon blue shirt and his neon green over shirt. We didn't take any pictures of ourselves but we did get a group photo of us with his best friend Evan and his date. After the dance we went back home and proceeded to finish up our scary movies.

I always love visiting Brandon and I'm hoping I can see him again really soon for his Spring Break. I know I just got home, but I really miss him. I cannot begin to express how happy it makes me to be able to wake up and know that he's actually there. It's really hard to see all of these couples walking around and know that I can't be with him all the time like that, but he is definitely worth it.

Where Am I Going To Put All Of These Crafts?

Guess what guys! I did some more crafts! I went out shopping today with Jordan and I picked up some foam, cheap, adhesive sticker things so I can easily apply and peal when I need to spray paint. So with that, I did some more crafts! First, I did a second gift for Brandon's mom because I wasn't sure which one would turn out better. I personally like this the best but I'm thinking I'm just going to give them both to her. Secondly, I made one, not for Brandon's mother, using the adhesive foam sticker things. I think it turned out alright. While out shopping I also picked up some more glasses for me to continue practicing my craft on.

Here, have some pictures.

Spring Break

Oh! I mentioned it briefly in my last post but I'm going down to Ohio again. On Friday it is Brandon's birthday and then Saturday he is having a dance at school. The theme is neon and there are going to be black-lights  it should be fun! I'm spending the week down there again and I can't wait.

Because I'm going down on Monday I have a lot to do tomorrow. I have to buy clothes for the dance, then pick up some craft stuff to attempt his moms birthday gift again, and other things so I can continue practicing, and then if I can't find any neon clothes, I have to go buy some clothing dye.

Then on Sunday I have to pack everything. Good thing is I have no homework for spring break, which starts Monday. That's why I'm able to go down and visit him.

I'm really excited, but I'm also kind of nervous. The last time I was there and around his friends I didn't give off such a good first impression. I'm pretty horrible around new people so I hope I do better this time.

Anyway, Seeing as how tomorrow is such a busy day, I'm gonna get some sleep.

Crafty Part 3

I tried to do some more candle votives tonight. I did one for fun to see how it would turn out, and the other was more or less practice but I tried to make it for Brandon's Mom. Her birthday was a few days ago but I won't see her until Monday so it is my belated birthday gift to her.

This is the first one. I tried making dots with hot glue and then I took them off after painting. I think I kind of like it better with the dots on.

This is the votive I did for Brandon's Mom. Her favorite color is blue and she loves butterflies, so I tried making a butterfly stencil and then removing it to reveal the inside of the candle votive. It needs some touch ups but I think it turned out alright. The paint coat is a bit uneven, you can see it on the inside. Honestly, again, I think it looks better with the glue on.

Crafty All Over The Place

I did another craft last night too that I didn't have the pictures for but I have them now. It's a faux marbled glass. You use nail polish to create a marbled look on the bottom of a glass (mine happens to be a shot glass that I found at Goodwill) and when looked at from the top, the colors of the nail polish seem to shine through the glass. It was just my first attempt so it didn't come out perfect, but like all things, you have to start somewhere.

Crafty Update

Here are some pictures of my previous craft with a light in it.

Crafty

Guys! I did something Crafty today! Recently I've been wanting to get crafty, but without the money to buy what I need it takes awhile. I was finally able to go out and purchase the last few things I needed so tonight I created a candle votive. It's a big uneven painting wise, but it was my first try and I expected it. Other than that I think it turned out pretty well! The pictures... not so much, but here they are!

As soon as I'm able to get the money to get what I need you better watch out, because i'm crafty!

Casting A Shadow

Today there was a giant spider in my room. Okay, so to most it was normal sized; but in my defense it was casting a shadow! I am terribly afraid of spiders. I actually started crying. I'm not proud of it but it happened. My boyfriend listened on the phone as I let out my girlish shrieks and cries and tried to calm me down as much as he could. Unfortunately it was all in vain since I was unable to collect any bravery and ended up having to get my mom.

So, thank you to both of you guys. I love you dearly.

And again, in my defense. It was casting a shadow.

Valentines Weekend Pictures

Here are the pictures of my gift from Brandon. Under the layer of Butterscotch candies is where the other candy used to be. We ate all of the other candy.

Also! Brandon and I bought a giant spoon. Brandon and I went to some thrift shops so we could buy some things for crafts. He knows I like to get Crafty so he bought me some things I could use. One of those things was a giant spoon. It wasn't a planned item but I liked it. He helped me sand it down and then we both repainted it. It turned out really great! It's funky and for no reason it has some sort of Tiki faces on it. Here are pictures of our process.

I'm thinking of maybe hanging it in my room somewhere. What do you think?

Valentines Day

Brandon came up on Valentines weekend and stayed with us again. I missed him so much, I was so glad to see him. While I'm so happy I get to see him at the same time it really sucks because I get so sad when he has to leave. It's hard, but it's worth it. He makes me feel better about myself. He makes me happy and that's something that I don't take for granted.

For Valentines Day he got be a big box of assorted chocolates, except I don't like assorted chocolates so he gave the chocolates to someone else and filled it with candy that I do like. He bought me some Reese's pieces, Sour Patch Kids, gummy bears, Milk Duds, and a few others. We also went and saw "Warm Bodies", that movie about the zombie love story. It was really cute. While we were there we got one of those set of pictures that come in strips.

I miss him oodles, but I plan to try and get down to see him during Spring Break so, here's hopin'!

Here are some pictures that were taken that weekend. More pictures from that weekend are coming.

It's Hard

I got kicked in the face today guys. I really hope this feeling stops at some point. It's extremely frustrating to be going throughout your day then have a crippling wave of hopelessness rush through you. I'll be fine one moment and then all of a sudden completely crying the next. I'm especially tired of being able to look at myself and like what i see one day and then the next day despise every corner and crevice of who i am. I just really hope that one day I'm able to go through a complete, full day without feeling, for even a second, like i'm worthless. I'm trying guys. I really am.

It's hard.

Leftovers

One night I was discussing with a friend which was better, leftover pizza, or leftover pasta. I like leftover pasta better than leftover pizza because it doesn't seem to get dried out whereas pizza gets all spongy, the cheese congeals and it doesn't taste the same. Our conversation went on for a little while and at the end, before going to bed my friend said one of the funniest things I've heard in awhile. He ends the conversation with, "Pasta la Pizza baby cakes"

I Got Kicked In The Face Today

My subconscious has a tendency to try and kick me in my face. More often than not it succeeds. Today was one of the days it succeeded, but I got over it fairly quickly. It used to be a lot worse than it is now and for that I'm thankful. If it weren't for certain people in my life I would probably be getting kicked in the face a lot, like I used to. I'm very thankful to have these people in my life. I love you guys.

Onward With My Future

Last but not least, my second semester of college starts back up on Monday. I'm continuing with my Sign Language major and while I plan on continuing in art there were no drawing classes available this semester so I will have to wait for them again next semester. However, I am taking psychology and a stress management class in the meantime. I'm kind of excited to continue with school but I'm not looking forward to being alone again all semester. So far I've had no one I've known in any of my classes and it's pretty lonely. Last semester I only started to make friends near the end and all of them don't have classes with me this semester so that kind of sucks, but onward with my future.

Brandon

On even another note, I have a boyfriend! His name is Brandon and unfortunately he lives in Ohio so it gets hard sometimes, but a few weeks ago I went down and spent a week with him in Ohio. It was fantastic and one of the best weeks I've had in a very long time. I miss him so much every single day. His family is awesome and we all get along great. I have to admit though, along with missing him, I miss his pets. They were the cutest things ever and they were always in a good mood. I love my cat, but it was nice being around animals that actually enjoyed my existence. He has a dog named Eddy and a cat named Lil' Bit. Eddy wore a sweater. Enjoy this picture of Eddy and Lil' Bit.

Drawing Again

I've also been drawing a bit more. I drew L'eau Lise for my brothers girlfriend for Christmas and Batman for my Boyfriend.

New Hair Color

That being said. A lot has happened since the last time I posted. For starters, I have blue hair now! Not just blue, but green, yellow, aquamarine, and purple.

I'm Sorry

I haven't updated this in a very long time and for that, I apologize. Please accept this adorable picture of two cheetahs.
